Jazz, Lounge, Bossa nova
This weekend has been hectic but enjoyable, nonwithstanding the assignments and projects that I have yet to start on (Yikes!). I had 3 sessions of mahjong back to back since Friday and I thought I was going to be totally drained after all that. Fortunately I still have the energy to type something down tonight.
Lately I have been listening extensively to music I have not seriously considered worth listening to in the past: Jazz, lounge and bossa nova (I'll term them JLB here). Perhaps it's because Wendy has been trying to psycho me and the rest to go Cafe del Mar and all, that's why I'm listening to it to get the beach music groove (FYI, Cafe del Mar is a beach bar in Ibiza. There is a series of music compilations also called Cafe del Mar that features tunes played in the bar). But personally I have taken to listening them since... 2 weeks ago. Why I have this sudden liking? Beats me. Besides that, I'm also listening to De Phazz, Bebel Gilberto, Hotel Costes series and Joao Gilberto. Just exploring around and seeking new sounds from everywhere.
Oh, as for Cafe del Mar... I also want to take a look at this fabulous (or so they said) beach bar at Sentosa. I picture it as this wonderful sunny place (in Sentosa?) with lots of babes in bikinis and lovely breeze all day long. And people with great bods would sashay down the coast with martinis in their hands, playing beach volleyballs or slapping suntan lotion onto their lovers' back. Sounds like some 30-second commercial for Ibiza...

Anyway, I already told Wendy we could probably go after the horrid summer module with the rest if they are willing. Otherwise, I don't mind organizing another mahjong session, really. Hur hur.
Oh yes, back to music. Listening to JLB seems to make me become more aware of my surroundings. I guess the tempo and melodies sort of soothes and relaxes the senses, almost therapeutical. But then again, maybe it's psychological. Heck.
Not many people I know actually listens to JLB. Luckily there're Victoria and Kaizer who enjoys them as much as I do. Speaking of which, Victoria and Mel are going to be back this June holidays. Yeah! We are so going to crash out at Harry's (or similar) again. Miss those chilled-our-ass-out days. Hur hur.
Meanwhile just let me get back to those dreaded project and assignments at hand... When is the month of June going to arrive?
I love wasabi green peas. I like wasabi but not as much for peas. But since CNY this year, I acquired a liking for wasabi peas! I think wasabi WITH peas isn't most people's cup of tea but I simply adore it (I can imagine hear Wendy and Meiyen sulking). I love it so much because each time the wasabi touches my taste buds, it creates an immense (only with quality wasabi) rush of blood to the back of the head that provokes your senses and make me want to tear almost instantly. The feeling is awesome!
So 2 months ago I made my way to Carrefour PS and bought 1 tin to try out. Simply delicious! And I finished it in 2 days. Of course I happily went back again to grab another 2 tins. Hur hur. But the bad thing is the lid of the tin is damn lousy and the peas (which are fried) go soggy if left unfinished for more than a week. But that's not the point, mainly. So presently, 2 months on, I am left with 1 tin of unopened peas. Hur hur. I look at it everyday but I have no urge to open it. I'm thinking that I have lost interest in it after binging on the peas for like 2 months. Hmmm guess I'll leave it on my table for a while longer until I feel like opening. Hur hur.
Anyway since school term ended, there hasn't been much update from Chang Er's - super drama mama - love triangle saga. What a pity. Obviously I share some sort of disappointment with ZBJ for having lost his battle to steal Chang Er from Hou Yi. But ZBJ is annoying in the first place for trying to be "an ugly toad who wishes to eat swan's meat" (some Chinese idiom). It's so happening and also keeps our morale boosted in school. At least we'd something to look forward to each week! Now we've to wait through summer holidays for season 2 to begin. Hur.
Gosh the summer module is already starting to gain much more momentum after the 3rd lesson - much sooner than expected. Project is due in slightly more than 2 weeks time. Darn. Better stop whining here. Fingers are tired.
Signing off.
This week has been a traumatising and disappointing week for most, if not all, of the people around me! Apparently the final semestral grades are being released this week and as far as I know, most people were utterly disgusted with their results - me included. Luckily for me, I have always taken things in my own stride and seriously, I do not wish to be affected by grades and ruin my lovely - and possibly last - idle summer vacation.
After much discussion with Yen and Wendy over dinner yesterday, I realised I have an insatiable list of "WANTS" in my mind. Obviously it's impossible to obtain them all at once for now. Sigh. Speaking of dinner, we had dinner at this Kim Gary HK Cafe at Vivocity.
I think this HK Cafe thing is all the rage for Yen and me. We're so obsessed with trying out the different franchises of HK cafes in Singapore. And I think it's starting to infect Wendy as well. I hope it does because I love eating out with these two. They can't seem to finish their food sometimes and I really hate to waste food (Think of the people starving in Africa). So there you go... Oh yes, before I forget, Kim Gary HK Cafe serves Ying Yang much cheaper than XW HK Cafe lah. The latter charges almost twice the amount of the former and the quantity is almost the same. WTH.
I cannot imagine blogging about my daily life. It's so BHB... Like who the hell wants to know about your miserable or happening life anyway? But I think I'm going to give it a try here, just for the fun of it. By the way, I'm trying to imagine that everyone who reads this is so interested in my life.
I had another wonderful run today at MacRitchie Reservoir with the RunTeam people. Obviously, no person in the right mind would ruin his beauty sleep running around - and feeding mosquitoes - in a nature reserve on a Saturday morning. Anyway I feel obligated to run since my IPPT is just a month away, and if I didn't go, the attendance would have been like TWO runners?
That aside, I think we shouldn't run too often at the reservoir on Saturday. That's because on this day each week, hordes of testerone and estrogen surging teenagers are training for their cross-country or canoeing and what-nots. Then there are those super crazy ang mohs, tai tais and tourists strolling and jogging around the nature reserve trying to suck away all the oxygen from us. Sigh.
On other matters... The holidays are here! It's let-loose time as well. What a pity though, that other universities are still having examinations and such. But I'll be starting my month-long summer module this coming week so I guess my idling time is coming to an end very soon. I imagine it's going to be really hectic and packed because the entire module that is usually studied over the period of a semester, is being compressed from 3 months to about 5 weeks. What the heck.
All right I think I've blabbered enough for now. It's been a good 20 minutes of written verbal diarrhoea...
To those who have lamented over this blog's perpetual stagnant content... Whine not, because this site is about to burst into life! After browsing through a couple of friends' blogs, I have started to develop a sudden itch to blog again... And what's more, it's a great activity to kill time!
In any case, the past blogs have been depressing enough and I think I should probably steer away from those genres of blogging to avoid anymore criticisms.
Stay around for fresh contents!
